TechCamp

On Saturday I went to TechCamp, a free self-organising technology conference that was run by the attendees. The guiding rule was that everyone who attended should present some work or contribute in some way. There was a room for moderated open discussions, and a room for presentations, so people floated between them as they wished. I got to chat with lots of nice and interesting geeks, and there’s already been talk of organising a follow up session. TechCamp Galway, anyone?

I spoke about how principles of Adaptive Design can be applied to software development - my slides are online, and can be downloaded.

    Hi Emmet.

I would definately make the trip to Galway if a TechCamp event was run. On the adaptive design front, have you got anything a bit more meaty than the slides I could get my teeth into. They left me wanting more, and the porterhouse was too loud for us to sustain much in the way of conversation.

    Hey Sean,

The slides are indeed pretty light, I think everyone wanted to avoid Powerpoint overload and just get chatting about stuff.

I don’t have any presentation notes, but you could start by checking out this post (and the links at the end of it) on this blog, and this one on the TheirWork blog. I should be posting a bit more about the technical build of the TheirWork project when I get into it too.

And count yourself lucky the noisy pub drowned out my incessant babbling!
